Signal Generator Portfolio

This portfolio will begin and will be altered based on signals from the Signal Generators. Buys and Sells will be based on a break of a trend line on the SG chart along with market confirmation that can span several days. Because the confirmation is easier to spot beforehand based on market action, Buys and Sells could be initiated intra-day. For this first entry, I’m going to use end of day prices.

I will start with a 50% position and will add the other 50% when the SG’s confirm either the Buy or Sell signal.

$SPX using SSO.

Price = $35.76

$COMPQ using QLD.

Price = $53.76

February 22nd, 2010

Adding remaining 50 shares each of SSO and QLD. Prices verifiable at Market Guru, see link on main page.

50 SSO at 37.96

Basis: $36.86

50 QLD at 56.65.

Basis: 55.21.

I will hold these shares until I get a clean break of the up trend line in one or both SG’s. Based on market environment at the time and of my own choosing, I will either sell outright on the day of the break or wait for market confirmation.

Reduced long exposure by 50%, or 50 shares, in QLD & SSO near the open. This verifiable in my Market Guru portfolio. I will now hold the remaining shares until I get a break of the trend line in the SG’s along with market confirmation.

Gain/(Loss) $7.71 or 14%

Sold remaining 50 shares of QLD near the open of trading on Friday, March 19th, 2010. Sell order for 50 remaining shares of SSO was not filled, so still holding those with plans to unload them Monday, March 22nd or perhaps Tuesday, March 23rd.
